Blue Line shares one track Addison to Montrose tonight
CTA lists planned work on the Blue Line from Mon, Oct 5 at 10:00 PM to Tue, Oct 6 at 4:00 AM. Trains will operate on the same track between Addison and Montrose, which CTA says will cause a boarding change and minor delays. The same notice is posted for the nights of Oct 6, Oct 7 and Oct 8, each 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
Separately, CTA says a slightly modified schedule for the Blue Line O'Hare branch is in effect during non-rush hours and weekends through Fri, Oct 9 because of construction. The Racine station's auxiliary Loomis entrance/exit reopens today, Oct 5.
For your commute: Morning rush is outside tonight's work window; for late trips after 10 PM, allow extra time and listen for the boarding change at Addison and Montrose.
Metra's UP-NW line page shows 'There are no alerts for this line or its stations.' The only system notice on the page is that the South Water Street elevator at Millennium Station is closed for replacement until winter 2026-2027, which affects Metra Electric rather than UP-NW.
For your commute: Check Metra's live alerts before you leave, since the page only reflects what was posted when it was read.
