Acme Ltd. OpenCorporates returned only near-name companies, for example ACME & I (UK) LTD, 10338546, Active, incorporated 19 August 2016, plus dissolved ones such as ACME & CO UK LTD (13392264, dissolved 11 August 2026). None is confirmed as the supplier, so I picked none. The domain acme.co.uk was registered on 13 October 1994 (registrant details redacted) and its page now reads Occupied, "Not taking on new work", Caterham 2026, which shows no legal name, address or company number. Google Places surfaced unrelated "acme" listings, such as ACME UK INC LIMITED at Churchill House, Borehamwood; I did not link them. Follow-up: ask for the Companies House number and a registered address, then confirm the domain is theirs.
Shenzhen Brightway Electronics. No registry record, and brightway-elec.com could not be fetched (a 502 connection error), so the site's legal name, address and certificates were not seen. Search results showed only similarly named, unconnected firms, such as Shenzhen Brightway Technology Co., Ltd. and an Australian Brightway Electronics; I did not attribute them. ISO 9001 stays "claimed": I did not reach IAF CertSearch or any certification body register. Follow-up: request the certificate number, issuing body and scope, then verify at the issuer; request the Unified Social Credit Code and check the national enterprise credit publicity system; request a UFLPA supply-chain declaration.
Northpeak Consulting. The invoice sender is [email protected]. Web search found a marketing firm at northpeak-consulting.com, a different domain. This is inference: the sender could be a lookalike, but I could not confirm either way because the .co domain would not load. Remit-to Hong Kong for a US consultancy and a $48,500 amount are both unverified. A BBB Scam Tracker fake-invoice report I found names "Pro Consultings LLC", not Northpeak, so I did not count it. Follow-up: call the vendor on the number from its official site (not the invoice), ask for a signed W-9 and bank-change confirmation, and hold payment. Escalate to Block if the vendor denies sending the invoice.
