OFAC removes 125 sanctions entries and updates 22 in modernization round

OFAC's Recent Actions page for Oct 5, 2026 lists SDN deletions and 22 SDN entry updates, plus an Iran-related OFAC Alert, "Notice to Foreign Financial Institutions Conducting Business with Iran", and one amended Iran-related FAQ (FAQ 156). Treasury's press release states the action removed 125 individuals and entities and updated 22 entries, describing it as the third round of its sanctions modernization effort. The page shows no publication time. Deletions listed include entries tagged [IRAQ2], with other program tags also present. Updated entries include AE INTERNATIONAL TRADE CO LIMITED (Hong Kong; [NPWMD] [IFSR]), whose address was removed, and several [SDNTK] entries (e.g. ARELLANO FELIX, Eduardo) that gained identifiers such as date and place of birth.

Treasury says removals cover deceased individuals, defunct companies and entries lacking enough information for robust screening, and that updates added new identifiers and removed outdated ones. Watchlist check: the string Sovcomflot and Rosneft do not appear anywhere in the Oct 5 action page; no Russia-related or vessel entries were identified in it.

For screening teams: Apply the Oct 5 SDN deletions and 22 amendments, and reassess prior hits against removed entries or changed identifiers.

Next dated item: OFSI general licence INT/2026/9512597 (legal services) is reported by LexisNexis to expire on 28 October 2026 (secondhand; confirm against the licence).
